I'd rather say the version bump would be a no-go till we figure out either it is backward compatible (with RocksDB 6.2.2 as it has been used for production), or quite easy way to migrate the old one to the new one. This applies to the changes on LevelDB to RocksDB as well (SPARK-35782). Given the importance, I'd like to see the efforts in different JIRA and be orthogonal efforts with RocksDB state store provider. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
