Review comment:
To update, my current thought is to add the sequence id for reads as
well (**only** for merged blocks - for others it will be a protocol breakage)
and validate/fail read request is from task with an older sequence id. While
not required for current state of codebase, it will help as things evolve.
Thoughts ?
