Verified that the patch fixes the compilation problem.
A few comments:
* The method `withScope` with 3 parameters seems to be only used in the
tests. Is there any other reason to keep this method?
* The fix is required following this
[fix](https://github.com/scala/scala/pull/3380) in Scala 2.11.
