@HyukjinKwon I confirmed the past PR and the mainly problematic part of the PR was the asymmetry of the implementation between encryption and decription. https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/10527#issuecomment-186523374 https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/10527#issuecomment-186523445 This PR doesn't have the issue (the return type of encryption and decryption are `ByteType` both).
