That's right, but Spark itself does not use JMSAppender, nor its dependencies as far as I can tell. (User applications may be affected, if they do use log4j 2, etc, but that's a matter for user applications) Nobody wants to depend on log4j 1.x. You are commenting on the very PR that is again trying to fix it, right? Please read the JIRA.
