    Really I think the most confusing part of this is that calling `.cache()` 
forces the materialization of the queryExecution.  If we instead build a new 
`QueryExecution` when creating the in-memory cache then the behavior is a 
little more straight forward.  Specifically, the contract will be that caching 
only applies to DataFrames that are materialized after the data has been 
cached.  Early materialization will result in not using the cache.
