We are using the same Hive version 2.3.9 as in upstream Spark. I checked `TUGIAssumingTransport` [there](https://github.com/apache/hive/blob/branch-2.3/shims/common/src/main/java/org/apache/hadoop/hive/thrift/client/TUGIAssumingTransport.java) and it doesn't implement `checkReadBytesAvailable` which is from Thrift 0.14 and up. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
