The SQL standard doesn't say anything about the automatic casting, correct? cc @gengliangwang @srielau @cloud-fan I'm not sure if there is anything about automatic date casting in SQL standard. But, from my point of view it is a nice feature to have, which was working till Spark 3.2.0 version. At least such kind of queries are supported in MySQL. Also, I don't see any issue to support such kind of casting, it doesn't break rest of interval related operations.
