I have no memory of this at all. The only vague memories I have of going near hive stuff is generally classpath related...could this be a factor? Side issue, I see the submitter must now declare "Was this patch authored or co-authored using generative AI tooling?" What's the policy here? Can someone point me at the email discussion here? As I'd thought that the ASF was now allowing this in restricted cases -I've been using copilot as an accessory alongside the usual IntelliJ code generators, especially for Javadocs. I know the code it generates can't be trusted -but as its training includes the ASF codebase it often seems to use our own code as the foundation. It just helps generate a stub of functionality which I then edit to be correct, rather than start from scratch. Is this allowed in the spark source? -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
