hi @cloud-fan @grundprinzip , coming back to this PR, looks like there is more or less lazy consensus due to lack of reply in https://lists.apache.org/thread/g6x3sqylvoyrcnwpfkhffh5fkbgnm6nm, so I implemented Option 3 per the only reply (put a catalog API). After trying this, it looks reasonable to me, as its more obvious its a 'mutative row-level' operation on the table that return no result.
