@HyukjinKwon the main reason is to avoid weird places [like this](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/49208/files#diff-11264d807efa58054cca2d220aae8fba644ee0f0f2a4722c46d52828394846efL209), where we transition from using :: to :+ just because there's a sequence of batches. We could technically achieve this by purely adding `flattenBatches` and keeping `::` and `:+`, but I thought also rewriting to explicit `Seq` is cleaner. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
