Yes, upgrading to Java 17.0.15 actually seems to work. But this de facto means that env requirement for building Spark is no longer Java 17, it's actually only specific minor versions? If this is the case, I think that the build should reflect this - at least with some proper error messages that would suggest upgrading the version to a specific minor (e.g. 17.0.1X+). -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
