Rebased again on current master to pick up the upstream fix for the `./dev/lint-scala` line-length failure. I reran `./build/sbt "sql/testOnly org.apache.spark.sql.errors.QueryCompilationErrorsSuite -- -z SPARK-38743"` and `./dev/lint-scala` locally; both passed.
