@dtenedor, thanks for the [detailed re-review](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/58367#pullrequestreview-5449566860). Addressed in a98fa7722f3: dead-attendant group kills now require a recent valid record and a verified Connect server in the group; otherwise recovery withdraws without signalling after the launch timeout. I also fixed failed-launch log retention, self-abort of pid-only servers, ps failures, bounded pending cleanup, and macOS zombies, with regression tests.
