Closing this alternative in favor of https://github.com/apache/spark-connect-rust/pull/108. We favor its use of arrow-rs's upstream whole-result C Stream reader, which avoids both custom stream callbacks and per-batch reader setup. Further review and validation will continue on #108, where the remaining memory and validation caveats are documented.
