Thank you for checking the connectors, @szehon-ho. I added an internal legacy config, `spark.sql.legacy.ignoreMetadataColumnAssignments` (default `false`), following the Spark convention for restoring a previous behavior. So, these assignments fail analysis by default, and setting the config to `true` restores the previous behavior that ignores them.
