    @squito Your new idea also involves quite invasive changes, I am not sure 
the use case is strong enough to warrant that. Here is a different idea. How 
about doing the unrolling in the same fashion as the RDD cache? Unroll first 
into an array, and then put it in the block manager or throw exception. How 
about that?
