@JoshRosen Could you pls take a look at this changes? This pr just simply
give the script a default serde if none of the `formatter` and `serde` is
given. Previously I was thinking of removing the `formatter` and use `serde`
only but seems like it's a valid use case so that part of logic is untouched.
