Should we consider merging this for 1.5 even without a regression test (or
file a followup to add such a test later)? If it doesn't change transitive
dependencies or break any existing tests then it might be a safe upgrade as
long as we trust our tests' / Pyrolite's tests' coverage of the features we use.
