I think that message did not actually post to the list. Backing up, it's
best to follow the process in
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/SPARK/Contributing+to+Spark and
describe your problem (discussing on user@ first, yes) and then JIRA and then a
PR explaining the solution. I like the refactoring just for its own sake but
why does it resolve a class loading problem? I am not sure it would make this
see your custom appender -- does it seem to?
