hi @markhamstra I think this looks good, but after thinking about it more
-- I kinda feel that this deserves its own jira. It would be helpful to users
on old versions, to understand what was fixed in the various versions. The
original fix did effectively band-aid the major bug, which from a few
conversations I've had around this issue so far is what people mostly care
about. That way it'll be clear what version is this follow up went in, to help
folks decide the importance of upgrading etc.
(of course I'm saying this somewhat selfishly, to help manage backports in
cdh, but I imagine this would apply to folks directly using the apache
distributions as well.)
