In my understanding it's not related to `columnar` format, probably a
general problem for all of the Decimal type.Right?
Add the unit test in the
https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/sql/hive-thriftserver/src/test/scala/org/apache/spark/sql/hive/thriftserver/HiveThriftServer2Suites.scala
should be very easy, you can cast any existed data type to decimal type and
then get it thru JDBC.
