Thanks @koeninger for the review and insightful comments ! It has been
great start experience to contribute to the community.
For this PR, I think it makes sense to close it. It is not ideal to do the
deep copy from the fetch response directly. And users can easily avoid
serializing MessageAndMetadata directly.
