I"m going to think about the user facing API in the next few days. For this
one, can you do one change first? Have only a single flag that controls whether
this is a data property or a metrics.
I informally polled a bunch of people who don't know Spark well but are
very technical, and asked them to explain to me what "consistent" means, and
later when "data property vs metrics" mean just based on the names. Nobody was
able to come up with the definition of "consistent" that is consistent with
what's here, but everybody's guess was pretty close for "data property vs
metrics".
