@ueshin Thanks for your 3 use cases. Yes I think #3 (#bytes) is what we
want. How about we change the name to make it more clear: call it bytelen .. ?
So here is the updated proposal:
a) length = codePoints to keep compatibility with hive
b) bytelen = # bytes: to show amount of byte storage for a string.
