    There is very small chance to double-count it when this is called between 
`totalSortTimeNanos += inMemSorter.getSortTimeNanos()` and `getSortTimeNanos()`
    
    Since we have only one UnsafeInMemorySorter, we should return either 
`inMemSorter.getSortTimeNanos()` or `totalSortTimeNanos `
