    @felixcheung, it is assumed that when dapply() or gapply() is called, each 
partition data can be loaded into memory as data.frame for processing by R 
workers. If there is OOM issue, users have to tune the partition number or 
reduce the data set size beforehand by doing some operations, including 
aggregations. 
    
    dapply() and gapply() provide basic functionalities, upon which other APIs 
convenient to R users can be built. Could you help to submit a PR requesting 
adding such API, for example, dapply(df, by, FUN). But not sure how popular it 
is in the R community.
