Andrew, could you post an example of a class definition that causes this?
I'm working on [a related PR](https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/1816), so
I'm curious.
Also, have you looked into using
[`--data-urlencode`](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10060093/special-characters-like-and-in-curl-post-data)
to escape the POST data?
