I believe @mateiz is concerned about compatibility with other scala 2.10.x
versions. We would have to make sure this works for all supported scala
versions, as the internals may change between minor releases. In that case, we
might have to add different code paths for different versions. This is unlikely
though and I think the benefits far outweigh the costs in this case.
