I don't believe the remaining use cases of findTightestCommonTypeOfTwo are
necessary. That said, to get rid of those use cases would require more
refactoring. I'm assuming we want to fix this issue in 2.0.1, so perhaps it is
best to do the refactoring separately only for the master branch.
