@MLnick Thanks for clarification. Then I think current fix is OK, since
Scala is strongly typed, we can regard ```Array()``` or ```Array.empty``` as
wrong input and throw exception. It's not necessary to have same semantics at
Python side for this issue. After updating the title of the JIRA and PR, as
well as the description, then this can be get in. Thanks!
