Also, in this context, the thrift server is kind of an application, not a
service; it's not like you have multiple instances of the thrift server needing
to authenticated with the KDC - you'll normally have one, maybe two, and in
that situation you can just use user principals (sans the host part). Compare
to, e.g., HDFS where each host has its own DN that needs to authenticate.
So I really don't think this is necessary at all.
