    I suppose the "extra" code you mentioned is about the integrity helper 
class and some padding operation. The padding  operation should be removed 
since it is not a correct use case., I will remove it accordingly. While the 
Integrity helper class is more related to SASL compared to common crypto 
library to some extend, the sequence number and HMAC are more like SASL 
transport context. I think common crypto library, as a general cipher might not 
appropriate to implement it.   I think it would be better to retain it and do 
some optimization. What do you think?
