I see we also have `(elapsedTimeMs < killTimeoutMs || killTimeoutMs <= 0)`
above, what about extracting `killTimeoutMs > 0 && elapsedTimeMs >
killTimeoutMs` to a method, e.g `def timeoutExceeded(): Boolean`?
