Hi @davies, this PR adds a documentation that describes the potentially
confusing behaviour as is for the current state. I know this is a super trivial
but it is an improvement without any regression. Assuming the JIRA
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-12624, it seems we don't want to
allow omitting and it looks it describes the correct behaviour.
Could I please ask to take a look please?
