    How about throwing InterruptedIOException and also setting the interrupted 
state? E.g.,
    ```java
        try {
          cf.await();
        } catch (InterruptedException e) {
          Thread.currentThread().interrupt();
          throw new InterruptedIOException();
        }
    ```
