@hhbyyh This is different from https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/12574
since it sidesteps the ongoing design discussions about input and output
schema. Eventually, I'd like us to proceed with
https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/12574 but only after we've figured out the
right workflow for using these methods in a Pipeline with tuning.
