    It does, actually; the property is named `SparkContext.SPARK_JOB_GROUP_ID`. 
 Since `properties` can technically be `null`, you could use something like
    
    
    ```scala
    val jobGroupId = 
Option(properties).map(_.get(SparkContext.SPARK_JOB_GROUP_ID)).orNull)
    ```
    
    to check the job group.  This is kind of messy (this isn't a documented / 
stable API, though).
