@WeichenXu123 , if #18733 is ready to be merged, then it should not be put
on hold because of this PR. We also want to make sure to work collaboratively
if there is overlap, and respect other peoples work.
I'll just point out that this is using `Future[Model]`s and the Model would
only be in memory once the future is completed. Then after it is evaluated it
is free to be cleaned up by gc.
