@liancheng @marmbrus I added a new Metadata class to restrict the value
types to: Boolean, Long, Double, String, Metadata, and arrays of them. The
Python side still uses `dict` for metadata. I can update the Python
implementation once you feel okay with the Scala/Java implementation.
