I think this is cleaner and easier to maintain. What do you all think? As for licensing, Tensorflow, which is also licensed under Apache 2.0, uses Ubuntu as the base image: https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow/blob/master/tensorflow/tools/docker/Dockerfile. It's even published to dockerhub.
