srowen commented on issue #23437: [SPARK-26524] If the application directory fails to be created on the SPARK_WORKER_… URL: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/23437#issuecomment-453756302 I think the worker should fail whenever it's unable to do things like write to its configured directory. I don't think we need to have some new complex blacklist mechanism. There's no particular reason to think it's recoverable right?
