cloud-fan commented on issue #22957: [SPARK-25951][SQL] Ignore aliases for distributions and orderings URL: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/22957#issuecomment-459270199 by default `SparkPlan.outputPartitioning` is `UnknownPartitioning`, this is safe but is sub-optimal for some operators like `ProjectExec`. `ProjectExec.outputPartitioning` just returns `child.outputPartitioning`, which is better but still sub-optimal. If we have `a as c`, the partitioning info of column `c` is not propagated.
