viirya commented on issue #23719: [SPARK-26808][SQL] Pruned schema should not change nullability URL: https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/23719#issuecomment-459625828 I'm reusing it when prototyping schema pruning in other place (not parquet), so I found this bug. Given the inputs to the method, it is correct to keep the nullability of input data type. I opened this as a separate fix. If others also think this should not be fixed, I will close it and include it when I finish the prototyping. cc @cloud-fan @dongjoon-hyun
