I totally understand :-). So here are the options : 1) Do nothing 2) Make LEFT mandatory. Its in theory a breaking change. I thought we can simplify stuffs in a major release. We could put a couple of lines in documentation asking users to add the LEFT keyword. 3) Make LEFT optional for semi join for pairty with the ANTI join counter-part and expose "semi" and "anti" as join types from dataframe. 4) Perhaps there is another option ?? :-)
