@jkbradley Hm, I'm wondering whether it's even worth the time to count the
partition sizes. The number of bins is intended to be large relative to the
number of partitions (tens of thousands, vs tens), so the unevenness is small.
My gut is it's not worth it, if you also don't feel strongly, but happy to be
'overruled'.
