This part is common and later everybody can build its own additional tooling around. > Does kafka allow committing the same offsets again? Yes, no problem committing the same offsets multiple times. > In this case there will also be an inconsistent view The committed offsets are only a means to expose the consumer’s progress for monitoring purposes. Since the checkpoint data can't be written together with Kafka offset, there might be minor inconsistencies (I think these has to be mentioned in the description).
