   from @dhruve 's comment above, I realized it might be good to add to this 
test case a bit:
   
   ```scala
       // if we get an unpersist event much later, which moves an executor from 
having cached blocks
       // to no longer having cached blocks, we still know the timeout from the 
original time the
       // executor went idle
       clock.setTime(idleDeadline)
   ...
   ```
