Spark on K8s [openjdk:8-alpine
](https://github.com/apache/spark/blob/master/resource-managers/kubernetes/docker/src/main/dockerfiles/spark/Dockerfile#L18)

Btw from what I read there is no guarantee shutdown hooks will run till
completed...
