For example. Wenchen, i think there is value in keeping the string functions in the plan. Its little easier to manage i feel. I have tried to use better names for these simple and verbose string functions. Also i have used tagging to store the operator id and wholestage codegen id in the plan and that makes things much simpler. Please let me know what you think..
